  Why do dubs act as if 1975 wasn't failed prophesy or misleading?

  from the evidence i have found, it was all but etched in stone.

  so why try and defend the wts by saying "they never stated armageddon would be in 1975", as one witness tried to throw back at me.. seems that you could show them all the evidence in the world of this false organization, and it will repel right off them.

  is there some sort of "force field" kool-aid they're serving at the halls?.

  Wish I had more time for this forum . . so many interesting posts!

  I was totally assimilated during that whole period and regardless of what the hive members tell you, there was a fever pitch expectation that 1975 was "it". My father sold the family farm in 71 and move to Ontario, Canada to wait out the time. Basically squandered his childrens inheritence (4 boys) slaving for the collective til 1: '75 came and went and 2: Ran out of money.

  To answer the question at the top of this thread . . They act as if 1975 wasn't failed prophesy or misleading because the hive tells them 1975 wasn't failed prophesy or misleading and "We never said that anyway . . It was you, you miserable faithless pudknockers, who misinterpreted what we said".

  I am reading all the comments & feel very sad for the hatred most of you feel for him. But you must realise that I was one of those that taught false teaching ----didnt you? He was a follower of followers... I believe God gave him the many years he had to search for the truth... But he evidently enjoyed his postion in Bethel, comfort, food, drink, power to go on ....just sucking up the rewards... I am sure he never went door to door, & when your under mind control only around others in the same mind set, you dont have the chance to see what others are doing in the world. ( VERY GOOD THINGS) I also believe the Creator( in my opinion >Jesus) will examine his heart... Who knows what his last thoughts , comments were.... If he is wicked ....I am too!!!!! I made 10 people a follower of a false prophet, some of them broke from their husbands, some died as JWS .... I might have talked to folks about this cult more than he did & how do I know how many listened & became followers after I passed them on to others....If he is guilty, I am also... Sorry for the long post.

  Spoken with the Wisdom that only age, maturity and experience can supply. Thank you Mouthy for that comment. I feel pretty much the same way, but you said it better than I could.

  Regarding my Screen Name: Locutus of Borg . . . as great STNG fans, the Borg episode were the favorites of me and my lovely wife. We immediately recognised them as valid metaphors of the WTBTS . And like Jean Luc, although having escaped, there remains permanent damage and there will be suffering till the end our days with the consequences of having been plugged into the collective hive. It's like the Hotel California . . you can check out, but you can never leave. Cliche, I know, but very accurate . .

  Regarding my Avatar: The great final scene in that SciFi cult classic "Inavasion of the Body Snatchers". For the last year or so in I was feeling like the character Nancy Bellicec (played by Veronica Cartwright) every time I stepped into a KH or spoke to the elders (lowercase) when she finds Donald Sutherland and discovers that he has been absorbed, taken over, converted, asimmilated. And realizes that she is ALONE . . . totally, utterly, wretchedly, hopelessly . . . alone.

  I got my BS at 49! Working on Math classes now, not sure if I am going to stay with Math or switch to something else for my Masters.

  Hi folks

  Been a lurker since the H2O days. Posted once or twice under another usename but I forgot it . . it was locutus something.

  I have gained alot from the forum and the people here, more from some and less from others

  Anyway, a bit about me, condensed version: I was raised in the lie since about 5 or so. I am 53 now. Spent about 35 years total in. Left when I divorced my first spouse in '83. Married a wonderful "worldly" lady I met in Boston. Moved to Central NY in 1990, started studying/attending again, WTF was I thinking . . I was having issues and it seemed like a familiar place . . Left for good back in '96 and haven't looked back.

  Since then I have attained a BSEE (summa cum Laude) and am working on an MS Applied mathematics. Mrs Locutus is graduating in 3 weeks with a BS Professional and Technical Communications.

  Contrary to what I was always taught, and thought for most of those years . . there is life outside the fortress and there are many wonderful, loving, careing and unselfish people outside those hateful, deceit filled walls. My wonderful spouse in one of them.

  Looking forward to telling my story and contributing in a positive manner here!!

  My wife and I met him at a CA back '93? or so. He gave a talk at the assembly hall in Henrietta, NY. We met him after the program. I remember he asked my wife if she was baptized. When she answered "no" he repiled quite gruffly "Better make it quick!"

  I feel some anger, but mostly pity for him.
